Description
This Colt Single Action Army SAA in .45 LC is a desirable first-generation example manufactured in 1906 and later upgraded with custom Helfricht-style engraving. The scrollwork coverage across the barrel, cylinder, frame accents, and grip frame gives it a classic Old West presentation, while the 4 3/4" barrel keeps the profile balanced and traditional.
The revolver retains matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, with the Rampant Colt logo in a circle on the left side of the frame. It also features ivory-tone Ajax composite two-piece grips, traces of case color on the frame and hammer, and a verified proof on the left bow of the trigger guard. The underside of the barrel is marked with the initials “BJ,” possibly identifying the engraver, though that detail is not confirmed.
Condition shows honest age and handling, including muzzle finish wear, visible use on the barrel and grip frame, and bore wear with light frost. For the collector who wants a visually striking early Colt SAA with character, age, and display presence, this is a standout C&R-eligible piece.
