Manurhin (Manufacture de Machines du Haut-Rhin) produced Walther PP, PPK, and PPK/S pistols under license in France from 1952 to 1986, filling the gap while German production was prohibited post-WWII. These French-made, often St. Etienne-proofed, and sometimes German-assembled pistols are considered equal in quality to pre-war Walthers. Manurhin is also famous for their manufacture of high end revolvers such as the MR73, MR88, M93, and MR96.
