Description
This Colt Government Model is the World War I Chateau-Thierry Commemorative, chambered in .45 ACP and produced as part of Colt’s celebrated 1967 WWI commemorative series. Built on the classic full-size Government Model platform, this special edition honors the American involvement in the Battle of Chateau-Thierry with distinctive commemorative artwork and markings.
The deep polished blue finish is decorated with detailed battle scenes and gold-tone commemorative lettering. Checkered wood grips feature an ornate commemorative medallion and Chateau-Thierry plaque, giving the pistol a presentation-grade appearance while retaining the traditional lines of a Colt 1911.
Serial number 4772-CT identifies this example as the Chateau-Thierry edition. The pistol shows some light handling and finish wear consistent with age but retains strong blue, sharp markings, and attractive commemorative details. An excellent addition for a Colt, 1911, or American military-history collection.
