Description
This Inland M1 Carbine is a U.S. military-style .30 Carbine with serial number 975860. The Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors was the largest producer of M1 Carbines during World War II, making Inland examples especially recognizable to collectors of U.S. military arms.
An especially desirable feature on this example is the visible Inland-marked barrel dated 9-43 (September 1943). The receiver is marked “U.S. CARBINE CAL. .30 M1,” and the rifle retains its traditional wood stock and handguard. It is fitted with an adjustable rear sight, front sight with protective ears, detachable box magazine, and a green web sling.
The rifle shows the honest cosmetic character expected from an older military carbine. The wood displays handling marks, dents, finish wear and areas of darker coloration, while the metal components retain substantial finish with age-related wear. Overall, it presents as an attractive WWII-era Inland M1 Carbine and would make an interesting addition for a U.S. military collector or enthusiast.
